CHAIRMAN & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Jae Sly, MBA, PhD
Jae Sly is a seasoned biopharmaceutical executive and consultant with over 20 years of experience spanning R&D to clinical development. She specializes in strategic partnering and international expansion of biopharma technologies and services, with a strong track record of supporting startups and established companies in the U.S. and global markets.
Jae has led initiatives in cross-border partnerships, investment forums, and technology evaluation for investment and licensing opportunities. She is actively involved in government and industry collaborations, having organized and presented at international conferences and high-level government partnering meetings.
Jae holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Washington and an MBA from San Diego State University. She serves as Adjunct Faculty and Board Member in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Delaware and is a Senior Scientific Advisor to USciences and LIMR. She is also a member of LES, ESACT, BIO, and BIO Startup Stadium, and a mentor in DE and MD incubator startup programs.
CHIEF SCIENTIFIC OFFICER
Steve Wolpe, PhD
Steve Wolpe is a biotech innovator and scientific leader with deep expertise in immunology, inflammation, stem cells, and drug development. He discovered the chemokines MIP1α, MIP1β, and MIP2 during his postdoctoral work at Rockefeller University, helping define the chemokine family with a landmark review that shaped the field.
Steve held leadership roles at Genetics Institute (now Pfizer), where he led stem cell research, and at Pro-Neuron (now part of Wellstat), where he directed programs in diabetes, cancer, and inflammatory diseases—including a diabetes drug licensed to Sanofi for $350M. He has also contributed to IP strategy, licensing, and business development across a range of technologies and global biotech ventures.
He currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at Path2P, Vice President of Preclinical at Khloris Biosciences, an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at BioHealth Innovation, and a contractor for NIH’s SEED Office.
MARKETING DIRECTOR
Haley Lassiter, BSE
Haley Lassiter is a driven scientist turned marketing consultant with a robust background in tissue engineering, biomanufacturing, and product development. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University (LSU), she gained hands-on experience developing human-derived biomaterials and 3D organoid models. Her work focused on advancing drug discovery and personalized medicine, particularly in metabolic diseases and breast cancer, where she contributed to pre-clinical models that assess potential therapeutics.
During her time in the lab, Haley’s passion for innovation extended beyond the bench. As she developed groundbreaking platforms for drug discovery, she also saw the power of effectively communicating complex scientific data to broader audiences. This realization led her to pivot into marketing and business development, where she now combines her scientific expertise with strategic communication to drive impactful results.
Haley has successfully applied her dual skill set to help a biotech startup redesign their website, enhancing user experience, improving functionality, and driving business growth that resulted in securing significant large pharma contracts. She is particularly skilled at simplifying complex scientific concepts for digital marketing campaigns, making science more accessible to a wider audience and helping bridge the gap between research and public understanding.
In addition to her professional work, Haley is passionate about mentoring the next generation of STEM professionals. She actively volunteers with organizations like STEM NOLA, GNO Inc., and the American Red Cross. Outside of her career, Haley channels her creativity into 3D printing and dancing, always seeking new ways to make a meaningful impact in healthcare and biomedical innovation.
PROJECT MANAGER
Derya Aslantas, BS
Derya Aslantas is an experienced Project Manager with a diverse background in clinical trials, patient support programs, and healthcare services. With a degree in Nursing and Health Sciences from Başkent University, Derya has honed her skills across multiple roles in healthcare and clinical research over the last 15 years, working across various countries and managing international teams.
Currently, Derya manages home healthcare services for clinical trials in four countries, with a focus on English communication. Her responsibilities include overseeing the start-up and close-out of projects, creating and managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Derya’s expertise lies in developing and adapting SOPs, CTIs, SOWs, and other key documents in compliance with the specific regulations of each country’s Ministry of Health, ensuring smooth trial setups across borders.
Throughout her career, Derya has been instrumental in identifying qualified home healthcare providers and site coordinators, providing project-specific training, and managing home visit operations. She also excels in vendor management and maintaining regular communication with clients and third parties. Her extensive experience includes drafting and updating agreements, from commercial to quality-related contracts.
Prior to her current role, Derya held leadership positions in various clinical research organizations, including Oximio, IQVIA, and Eczacıbaşı Health Services. Her career has spanned multiple therapeutic areas, such as oncology, rare diseases, and chronic conditions, allowing her to develop a comprehensive understanding of patient support programs and training protocols.
Fluent in Turkish and English, with working proficiency in German, Derya brings strong analytical, crisis management, and team leadership skills to her role. Her passion for healthcare extends beyond her professional work; she is also an avid writer, rower, and technology enthusiast.
